BIOGRAPHY

Heinz Stephan Tesarek, born in 1976, is a photographer, who lives in Vienna, Austria.

He reported from the wars in disintegrating Yugoslavia, on the War against Terror in Afghanistan and the terror of radical Islamists in the Caucasus and Europe.

Between 2001 and 2005 he was a photo correspondent for Getty Images and Agency Anzenberger in Russia.

After returning to Vienna, he worked on feature stories about celebrities and photographed increasingly for international corporations.

At the same time, he began work on a photographic volume about the future of Europe, being published in 2011.

AWARDS

His work has been awarded a Pictures of the Year International (POYi) Award of Excellence, the Austrian Prize for press photography Objektiv several times (overall winner in 2011) and a New York Photo Award.
